Lexi Shepherd is from the small town of Albion, Illinois. She is a freshman in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment who is majoring in dietetics. Lexi’s favorite aspects of CIS 112 were getting to know the staff at her service learning organization, Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, and recording podcasts about her service learning experience with her fellow classmates. Lexi was nominated by her CIS 112 Instructor, Dr. Brandi Frisby. "Lexi had excellent attendance, preparation, engagement, and only produced the highest quality work," said Dr. Frisby. "Lexi excelled in all types of communication. She was someone who her peers looked up to as well." 

Donovan Ferguson is a junior and double major in management and marketing in Gatton College of Business and Economics. He is from Johnson County, Kentucky. He said he is grateful for CIS 300 because it equipped him with the necessary skills to excel in the workforce. "Donovan is a model student," said CIS 300 Instructor Amanda Schagane. "His communication practices were in line with the goals of the course-always professional and communicated with a positive tone. His team's final project was easily the best in the class, and I'm confident that is due to his leadership." Ferguson said his experience in CIS 300 taught him that, "It is vital to apply knowledge from the classroom to your professional life, so that you can be an effective communicator in the business world."
