The School of Information Science is hosting a special guest lecture on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 5:30 PM in the William T. Young Athletic Association Auditorium. Austin Knight, Senior UX Designer at HubSpot, will give a presentation on his user experience (UX) process and take the audience through a real world project at his organization.

“User experience” or “user interface” design encompasses all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with the company, its services, and its products. It focuses on having a deep understanding of users, what they need, what they value, their abilities, and also their limitations. The overall goal is to improve the quality of the user’s interaction with end perceptions of a company’s product or related services. This talk is for learners that have heard about user experience or interface design, but don’t really know much about these disciplines.

Austin’s talk will introduce university and community members to UX techniques and design cycle. There will be plenty of time for questions and conversations following the talk.

We encourage those interested to register via Eventbrite:https://leanuxlecture.eventbrite.com, as we have limited space available. If there is any interest in attending virtually, please email infosci [at] uky.edu for the Zoom link.
