Renee Kaufmann named the H. Lester Reynolds Professor in Engineering
Renee Kaufmann (associate professor, SIS)
Please help us congratulate Renee Kaufmann (associate professor, SIS) on being named the H. Lester Reynolds Professor in Engineering. Renee's appointment will be effective July 1, 2022 and continue for three years.
Renee has been with CI since 2009, where she began her academic career as a graduate teaching assistant. After completing her Ph.D. in our program, she taught at Indiana University East before returning to the School of Information Science.
Since then, Renee has taught ICT and CIS undergraduate and graduate level courses in CI, as well as in the Lewis Honors College. Additionally, Renee was instrumental in helping propose, develop and promote our new ICT online degree completion program. She was promoted to associate professor in 2021.
The Reynolds Professorship was established in 2002 to provide support for a faculty member in CI who works collaboratively with staff and faculty in the College of Engineering. The professorship is designed to help enhance the oral and written communication skills of engineering undergraduate and graduate students. It is appointed by the Dean of the College of Engineering with nominations vetted by a committee composed of faculty members from both colleges. Past Reynolds Professors include Derek Lane, Brandi Frisby and Kevin Real.
Congratulations, Renee!
